How Much Time Do I Have to File My Lawsuit?

This is a commonly asked question and the answer varies depending on the type of lawsuit you are filing. The length of time to file a lawsuit, or Statue of Limitations must be complied with or you may be prevented from bringing your claim.

Here are a few types of lawsuits and the Statute of Limitations, or time from the incident, within which you should contact The Pace Law Firm, Inc., to begin your claim. If you have any questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to call The Pace Law Firm, Inc.

1 Year - You must contact The Pace Law Firm, Inc, within 1 Year from the date of the incident, if you have a claim for:

WRONGFUL DEATH

INTENTIONAL TORTS Some examples of intentional torts include: Defamation, Libel, Slander, False Imprisonment, Malicious Arrest

CLAIMS AGAINST THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI OR GOVERNMENT ENTITY
(You must file a Notice of Claim within 90 days of the incident with the appropriate State agency)

2 Years - You must contact The Pace Law Firm, Inc, within 2 Years from the date of the incident, if you have a claim for:

WORKERS' COMPENSATION (Note: You must file your Notice of Injury with your employer as soon as the injury occurs at work, then call The Pace Law Firm, Inc.)

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE (In General)

Please call The Pace Law Firm, Inc. as soon as possible because the Statute of Limitations begins when you, "knew or should have known" about your Medical Malpractice case

DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

3 Years - You must contact The Pace Law Firm, Inc., within 3 Years from the date of the incident, if you have a claim for:

AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENTS

PREMISES LIABILITY (If a death occurred on the premises of another, Call The Pace Law Firm, Inc., as soon as possible)
